Saskatchewan Optometrist Jurisprudence Exams
All applicants are required to attend an Orientation session and successfully pass the SAO Jurisprudence examination.
The Jurisprudence examination is a closed book format consisting of “True and False” and “Multiple Choice” questions. Applicants have one hour to complete the examination and passing grade is 75%.
Applicants should be familiar with legislation pertaining to practicing optometry in Saskatchewan including the following:
The SAO office must receive the $200 Jurisprudence examination fee before you can challenge the examination. A notarized photo, copy of your passport (including your picture) or government issued identification must be provided to the SAO office prior to or at the time of the examination.

The 2018 spring Jurisprudence examination and orientation session will be held at the Regina Delta Hotel, Saturday, April 14, 2018 beginning at 9am.

SAO Orientation Details
All new SAO members are required to attend an orientation session immediately following the jurisprudence exam until 11:30. Applicants are welcome to attend the SAO Luncheon at 11:30 also at the TCU Place. To register please contact the SAO office.
The orientation will review billing practices, scope of practice, office management and other important optometric topics.
