Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists 2025 Renewal
The 2025 SAO License & Prof Corp Renewal Application is now available for submission. Please note we have a new renewal form and you will be directed to a Microsoft Form, please see link below. This year is a mandatory survey year. Each member must complete a member survey, and each practice must submit an economic survey by December 15th.

Things to keep in mind:
- To renew your license, you must meet ALL licensing criteria (i.e. current CPR certificate on file, current professional liability insurance on file, license application form correct and complete, and continuing education criteria met.)
- The SAO office is closed from December 24th – January 2, 2025. Our legislation allows for payments to be accepted up to December 31st without penalty however, if payments are not received before December 24th your license will not be sent before January 2nd and you will be unable to practice on January 2, 2025, or until it is received.
- SP-LR-8 License Application has been updated. The penalty for late applications has increased to 25% of the total licensing fee ($3,195) and this year is equal to $798.75.
- Please submit your renewal and payment early to allow time for processing and mailing your license certificate(s) prior to January 1, 2025.
- Members must renew their licenses no later than December 15, 2024 to avoid penalty.
The 2025 license fee is $3,195. If you have a registered professional corporation, the 2025 renewal fee is $100. Both fees are payable to the SAO.
Options to pay the SAO:

- Pay via Online Banking (preferred) – The SAO has implemented a bill payment option with the following financial institutions: RBC, BMO, Scotiabank, CIBC, TD and credit unions.

- Go to your Online Banking with any of the institutions and search for the Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists as a payee
- BMO – Saskatchewan Assoc of Optometrists
- CIBC – Saskatchewan Assoc Optometrist
- RBC – Saskatchewan Assoc of Optometrists
- Scotiabank – Sask Assoc of Optometrists
- TD – Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists
- OR, visit a local branch of the above institutions to pay your bill in person
- You will need to quote your 6-digit “customer number,” which is the first 3 letters of your last name as listed on your license PLUS your 3-digit SAO license number
- Go to your Online Banking with any of the institutions and search for the Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists as a payee
- Pay via e-Transfer – Please note: this must be done AS ONE PAYMENT. Please send your e-Transfer to admin@saosk.ca.
- Pay via credit card – If paying by credit card, please note a processing fee of 3.59% will be added to the amount.
- Send a cheque to the SAO office.
